5. Field Postcard Dordrecht Pontonnier - June 15, 1917
This photo card was written by a Pontonnier stationed in Dordrecht. He writes: “Jacob, by this I let you know that I am still in good health. Wishing the same for you. Didn’t receive the first card. The second one arrived. As for the service, it’s going quite well. Engaging in trade won’t be possible due to lack of money. Everything here is very ordinary. Regarding leave, I will be off from July 6th to July 10th. I’m here with many acquaintances, including a captain from the Swallow V, etc. With warm regards to you and ……….., greetings from your brother Kerst van Raalte L.S.P. Pontonnier 4th Section, 2nd Division, 2nd team of the bridge depot in Dordrecht.”
